Jiujiang Free Trade Zone

Jiujiang is located in the northern part of Jiangxi Province, at the junction of Hubei, Hunan, and Anhui provinces, with a national economic development zone, a national high-tech zone, and a comprehensive free trade zone, covering a total area of 19,100m2. The longest river in China – the Yangtze River flows through Jiujiang, the largest freshwater lake in China – the Poyang Lake is located in Jiujiang, and the most famous mountain in China - Mount Lu is in Jiujiang.

 

Jiujiang is one of the top 100 cities in China, an important pivot point for the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, an important component of the urban cluster in the central region and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and a “bridgehead” for the development of the Inland Opening-up Pilot Economic Zone in Jiangxi Province, as well as a port city for national logistics. Currently, it is focusing on accelerating the construction of regional shipping center, strengthening the free trade zone, enhancing the function of port city, developing the cross-border e-commerce and growing the digital economy.

By the end of 2021, there were 13 provincial-level or above parks in the city, including 2 at the national level and 11 at the provincial level, with an area of 150.1 square kilometers. There are 1,612 industrial enterprises in the parks, employing 247,000 people.

 

INTRODUCTION OF JEDZ

Founded in 1992, the Jiujiang National E&T Development Zone (JEDZ) is located in the southwest of Jiujiang City, with a core area of more than 70 square kilometers and a population of about two hundred thousand, as well as more than 500 industrial enterprises.

 

JEDZ adheres to the development ideas of “leading industry, project promotion, innovation drive, harbor city linkage”, gives prominence to the development of electrical and electronic, petrochemical, “san xian economic” three key directions, the expansion of industrial clusters, preliminary formation electronic first development, new energy and new materials, equipment manufacturing, auto parts and focuses on the development, at the same time, actively support the specialization, “new” strategic emerging industries, both development needed for the production and living of the modem service industry cluster development pattern.

 

At present, there are 12 colleges and universities, with 150 thousand students studying at colleges and secondary schools. Moreover, JEDZ also maintains long-term cooperation with more than 100 universities. The city has a human resources market, eight personnel social service centers and 39 personnel social service platforms. There are more than 30,000 job registrants annually. All kinds of inter-disciplinary talents are available for enterprises.

 

Compared with the first-tier cities in coastal areas, the comprehensive salary level in Jiujiang is 15%~20% lower, indicating an obvious manpower cost advantage.
